An anniversary of sorts...

sharanI've been so busy I only just realized I missed an anniversary a couple of weeks ago. It's officially 10 years since I broke up with my last boyfriend (of course I suspect it would be a surprise to him that I really haven't been involved with anyone since).
So for my 10 year anniversary what have I decided? I've finally realized that I just don't WANT to get involved with anyone right now. Who has time to deal with that whole mess when I'm going to school full time AND working part time (especially right now in a high-pressure game job). It is very ironic when probably the main reason it's been 10 years for me is because of someone else being in this exact situation 8 years ago when I met him. But I've realized everything else in my life is going well and I'm happy and not at all lonely, so I don't really NEED a boyfriend right now.
I created an OKCupid account while doing a quiz on here a few months ago, but I finally realized I was doing it more because people kept telling me I should try to meet someone than because I actually wanted to. I feel bad since I did meet someone there who I like and have a lot in common with, but the timing's crappy. I just told him the situation and that it would probably be a while before anything might happen and it's up to him whether or not he wants to stick around in case things change. I know I haven't even given him a chance, so I'm trying to be fair and give him at least more of a chance than I got in a similar situation. Hopefully I'm doing the right thing and he'll understand.
I'm probably about a week behind on catching up on reading my friends page again, but what else is new? Things should let up after mid-April when this game I'm working on is done. I also created a myspace account (sharangv) purely to keep track of all the bands on there, but I definitely prefer this place! There's something really slimy about that place, and I had to require people to know my last name or e-mail address to add me as a friend to cut down on the spam (what is it a contest to add as many total strangers you have nothing in common with as possible to your friends list there?). If you're on my friends list here I already know you and you probably already know my last name and can add me there, but I plan on spending less time there than I do here. If nothing else, here I don't have to worry about going blind from staring at too many godawfully fugly* and unreadable web designs;).

Well, I think the biggest change is the game programming job, working on the PC port of the game for Shrek the Third (I'm not sure if I mentioned the movie here, but I think it's O.K. to mention it at this point). Between that and classes it's been an insanely busy semester! The job should be ending in mid-late April and I'll be back to working at ISI.
