Well, it's been a VERY busy week+ so I just waded through over a week of messages on my friends page (thank God for friends filters!) I have to say I've found way too many cute cat picture communities here;). But I couldn't resist posting these:
I particularly like that second one:).
For a quick news update, my last official day as an employee was last friday, but once I gave my notice they decided to let me work part time as a freelancer after all;). And they're paying me enough that at 25 hours a week I hopefully won't be making that much less than I was as a full-time employee. It helped that
chythar gave his notice 2 weeks before I did (and ironically enough is now doing freelance work there nights and weekends after his new job, at least for the next few days). Classes at USC are great (I guess you really do get what you pay for, and I'm paying a LOT at USC). I have games for final projects for 2 of my classes (Data Structures and Video Game Production) and maybe I can work things out so I can use the same one for both. I guess I'll see what happens! The only problem is my precalculus class at 8am mon/wed/fri and 9am tues/thurs. I think they make it so early in the morning to torture freshmen, and I just got caught in it! It is weird being around a bunch of people so much younger than me (I'm wearing t-shirts and jeans since I feel a lot less old that way;).) I had a really scary revelation during my Video Game Production class when they went through the history of videogames and I suddenly realized most of these people weren't even BORN when most of this stuff (which I remember well) happened (i.e., Atari, Colecovision, PacMan coming out, etc...). That really is scary!
Well, there's a lot of other stuff going on and I'd like to do a much longer update post, but I'm leaving for Worldcon wednesday morning, so it probably won't happen until after that.
