School update
Oct. 5th, 2004 06:47 pmYou know, it's really ironic when my whole life is so busy until I come in to work, and get to sit around with nothing to do;). I've actually been able to do a little catching up here, and I decided I might as well post here (it's that or work on the AlcoholEdu thing USC have been nagging me to do, like it's relevent to me. The entire department was moved into one room while our floor is being remodeled, so it's a little too public here to catch up on reading for my classes.).
Since I haven't been posting much I figured I'd do an update on how school is going. In general, it's going well. I'm still playing catch-up from time lost to Worldcon and getting all my books late, but I'm starting to clear out that backlog. Midterms helped force that;). The 8am precalculus class is the biggest problem. Getting up at 5-6am when I seem to find it impossible to get to bed before midnight is NOT fun. I've had to take naps on couches in the lobby of one of the buildings, and in my car. At least I'm doing well. I got a B-range grade on my math midterm, and I just found out I got a 90 on my Data Structure midterm (apparently the average was 74). I had a Homework from Hell in that class about a week and a half ago that forced me to miss a friend's wedding, and I lost points for forgetting to check for negative numbers, but other than that I did pretty well on it. And I just handed in another homework yesterday: a game design document for level 1 of Pacman:).
Well, if I can just get through this semester I plan on avoiding ANY classes before 10am in the future! That would definitely make life easier.
At least I get tomorrow off from work (I cut my hours to have one day during the week for catch-up), which ironically means I'll be busy and probably not checking here. I have another homework for that Data Structures class which I'd like to get out of the way. My roommate is in Las Vegas so it'll be a quiet week (other than cats wanting attention;)).
