E-Mail woes
Dec. 9th, 2001 03:50 pmIf anyone sent me e-mail at sharan@rockersonline.com over the past 2-3 months, you can't count on me having gotten it. I switched hosts from one that was costing me $30 a month to one that was $99 a year and had all kinds of extras (asp, cold fusion, access, sql server 2000, etc.) I already have ScienceFictionWriting.com hosted there, but I've never used the e-mail there.
Well, there have been several stretches of time lately where e-mail sent to me vanishes off the face of the earth, never to be seen again, without so much as a bounce message. I only figure it out if I don't get e-mail I'm expecting. Even e-mail I sent out also seems to be vanishing mysteriously. Considering this is my MAIN e-mail address and I get tons of e-mail there this is a serious problem.
I'm not quite at the point of blaming the host and switching again (besides, I'm paid up for a year), especially since right now that e-mail's down but sciencefictionwriting.com e-mail works just fine. The host has been very good about getting back to me right away most of the time, so hopefully this will get straightened out eventually. But meanwhile, if anyone needs to e-mail me I recommend using sharan@pobox.com.
