Book Meme and a couple of quizzes
Jun. 12th, 2005 12:55 amWell, I don't normally bother with these but since it is book related, and
aerolyndt tagged me so I decided why not.
1. How many books do you own?
Probably more than some libraries. Definitely in the thousands by now. I had to put a lot in storage because we just don't have room in the apartment.
2. The last book you bought?
Well, the last time I went to Barnes and Noble I picked up "Tales From Earthsea
" by Ursula LeGuin, "Oceans of Fire
" by Christine Feehan", and a book called "Six Figure Freelancing
" since I'm considering that as a way to get through school. I also bought a TON of books at Baycon, and I have an Amazon order due to ship at the beginning of July that includes "Castles Made of Sand
" by Gwyneth Jones, "Curse The Dark
" by
suricattus, and "Every Which Way But Dead
" by Kim Harrison. I just wish I'd known about the new Catherine Asaro book
or I would have ordered that one while I was at it.
3. Last book you read?
Right now I'm reading "Haunted
" by Kelley Armstrong (when I'm not home) and "Broken Angels
" by Richard K. Morgan (when I'm home. I try to carry around a paperback in my pocketbook and read hardcovers/trade paperbacks at home). The last book I actually finished was "Dead Witch Walking
" by Kim Harrison.
4. Five books that mean a lot to you
* The Dark is Rising series by Susan Cooper
* The Narnia series
* "Half Asleep in Frog Pajamas
" by Tom Robbins (my favorite book. No one else could write an entire book in the second person and pull it off!)
* The Black Stallion series
* Way too many others to possibly name
5. Tap five readers on the shoulder
Nah, I won't do that to anyone. If you want to, feel free. If you don't, don't bother.
BTW, feel free to ignore the Amazon Associate links above (it's not like I've made a single penny since I started using that a couple of months ago), but if you want to help a student who's about to become unemployed feel free:).

Weird. I have a bunch of his books but I haven't actually gotten around to reading any of them.
BTW, we just got back from a wild goose chase to Anaheim looking for a couple of non-existent Chicago style pizza places. We would up eating at Chilis. But I did get some really nice black fake leather curtains with leopard-print thin curtains for behind them for my bedroom, a black and leopard print toilet seat (yes, really;)) and a nice big soft purple suede pillow.
Also, we did get to meet Ricky the cat last night. He really is a very sweet and friendly cat! He was even sitting in my lap for a while. It's hard to believe he was living under a house with no owner just a week or so ago!
