End of an Era

jbadger. Damn. A good friend of mine lived there for years (in the main house which burned down at first, and then in the other house on the property) and had many parties there over the years. I spent a lot of time there when I was in college. I guess by now he's been gone for a while (last I heard they'd sold it. I really need to send him an e-mail and get back in touch with him). It sounds like the entire place has been abandoned for years. It's so sad to see just how badly the place had deteriorated over the past 10+ years. It was old even when I was there, but there were still people living there and it wasn't nearly as bad as it sounds from the descriptions.
BTW, the last few weeks have been insanely busy, so I haven't checked in here, and things probably won't calm down until after my final on June 9. Although it sounds like I should hear from USC finally before then (they let everyone know by June 1, apparently) so I might be posting about that when I know. But over the past few weeks there was E3, a Get Into the Game Industry conference (which I worked on a Flash game for), my Spanish class (which I'm now a few chapters behind on the homework for. *sigh*), and a move (about 2 weeks ago a 2 bedroom apt diagonally across from my old apt in the same building opened up, so we grabbed it! The last of the stuff got cleared out of the old place sunday night, and there's still a ton of unpacking to do. I've also got an old friend (since Kindergarten. It's hard to believe we've known each other around 30 years!) in town who I hadn't seen in years, and my parents were just in town for a week during the move. And thursday night we're heading up to Baycon. And I picked up some contract work on the side. And it just never ends... I don't even have my computers completely set up right now.
So if anyone was wondering why I haven't been around, that's why. hopefully I'll be able to come up for air in a couple of weeks!
