Well, it looks like I'll be away for a few days (not that anyone's reading this anyway;)). I'm driving down to L. A., where it looks like I have not one but TWO job interviews lined up! And I'm letting recruiters know I'll be there so maybe there will be more. If I'm lucky I'll get in to E3 too, but so far I don't know if my friend in the industry will have any spare passes. Even if I don't I hope to meet up with people from the new Women in Game development mailing list (it's a VERY busy list), including a recruiter I've been working with. And I might even stop by the Weddingchannel office just to say Hi! to people:). I even found a motel right by the Santa Monica Pier/Promenade, so this doubles as a mini vacation. When I get back depends on interviews and/or how well things go (and whether I need to find an apartment quick;).) Well, as long as I'm back here for Baycon I'll be happy!:)

Damn, you know I've been so busy that until now I forgot to put music on;).

Well, we finally got to see how they were going to deal with Robert Downey Jr.'s recent arrest. The whole season had shown what a great couple they were, and everyone was rooting for them to work out. He even won an award for his part. In fact it was painfully obvious that this episode was leading up to just that: he was going to propose to her. But we were all cheated by a different ending. Not by the people producing the show, but by Robert Downey Jr. and his drug problems. Thanks to that we saw the only ending they could have used, which was a letdown compared to what could have been. It didn't fit with what came before, but we all know why it had to be done.

Well, some guys have problems they just can't seem to get past. Believe me, I know about that from past experience. No one's going to change unless they really WANT to change. And that can be the hardest part of all. Some of us do persevere and work on things and change constantly for the better. Others will be in the same place years from now still wondering why you aren't still there with them. But hopefully some day some major event will happen or they hit bottom and only then will they realize that they have to change and actually do something about it. But only they themselves can make that decision, and no one, not even the government, can change someone's mind for them. The best they can do it put them into a position where hopefully they will have that moment of truth and change on their own. I hope he does get himself straightened out someday. It will never bring back the ending that should have been, but at least his life will be better and maybe he can go on to do more shows that make people happy.
