Mercury Retrograde and Dokken Disaster

My ex-roommate told me Mercury is retrograde until February 8. It figures. I had told her about my current connection problems with my cable modem, which over the past 2 days have been so bad that sometimes I have to do ipconfig release/renew on my computers, reboot them, and sometimes unplug my cable modem for 20 seconds before I can connect to anything at all. Temporarily. It seems to last sometimes as little as 15-30 minutes before I lose connection and have to start the whole damn process all over again.
So I should have guessed it was a mistake going to a concert tonight. Dokken were playing at the House of Blues. I called the place and they told me there were 2 opening acts (I'd never heard of them) so I figured I had time. I didn't count on traffic on Sunset being such a NIGHTMARE! I missed the parking, passed the place, and was stuck in traffic for like 1/2 an hour before I could turn anywhere and find my way back. Then I did find parking: $15. If I'd known it would be THAT much I wouldn't have gone. I was tempted to turn around and go home, but turning around wasn't an option and if I kept going I would be stuck in the same damn traffic for another 1/2 hour before I could turn around. So I paid the damn $15.
So I finally get there and pay the $24 for the show and find out they're been on for 15-20 minutes already. Plus, they said they're only playing until 12:15 (by that point it was 11:30). Fortunately they played until 12:40;). The band were good at least, although after what I went through to get there I just wasn't in the mood for most of it:(. Two songs stood out though: Alone Again and In My Dreams (the encore). Those were great and were a nice distraction from thinking about my problems:). I liked a couple of the shirts there too, but they weren't taking credit cards and the atm upstairs was closed for the night (and the parking garage ate my cash of course:P.) The only Dokken shirt I have is one I don't like that much (it was all they had the last time I saw them), so I really would have liked a better one:(. I asked the guy if they'd sell these on the web and he said probably not. Hopefully he's wrong. Or maybe they'll come back after the new album comes out. Hopefully they'll play somewhere OTHER THAN House of Blues or maybe during the week when there's less traffic.
Now let's hope the Dream Theater show next month goes better!
